Business Growth Initiative

New Seminars Arranged Following Successful Launch of Business Growth Initiative

Following a successful launch of Hertford Town Council’s new business growth initiative last month, two more seminars have been arranged and people are being invited to register their interest.  In January, Hertford law firm, Longmores, will cover legal matters, whilst in March the focus will be on government initiatives – with the Minister of State for Business and Enterprise, Mark Prisk MP, set to address new group.

The first seminar was held on 21st October, with Ben Adams, an ecommerce and digital marketing expert, presenting the latest thinking on ecommerce to a group of people from Hertford businesses, who afterwards took the opportunity to network over a glass of wine.  Attendees welcomed the Town Council initiative, and urged more frequent sessions to be run than had been originally planned.

The next two events will be:

  • 6pm, Wednesday 25th January – Legal Matters with Richard Gvero and Craig Harrison, two of the partners in Longmores.
  • 6pm, Friday 2nd March – Government Initiatives with Mark Prisk MP, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise and MP for Hertford and Stortford.

The initiative is being led by two Hertford Town Councillors, Isabel Sigmac and Andrew Stevenson, who joined the Council in May.   Cllr Isabel Sigmac said: “I am really pleased that there is such entrepreneurial interest in Hertford and that the first event was so well received.”

Cllr Andrew Stevenson said: “The present economic climate means that local businesses of all types need all the support that they can get. We aim to form a vibrant new entrepreneurial network.”

Space will be limited, so anyone wishing to attend is asked to pre-register their interest at www.hertford.gov.uk.  Further information can be obtained by emailing business@hertford.gov.uk
