Longmores leads the way in Chambers UK 2016 Listings

The Chambers UK has announced that four partners and one consultant at Hertford-based Longmores Solicitors LLP are to be ranked as ‘Leaders in their field’ in the Chambers 2016 Directory.   They are:

Anna Baptist – Family/Matrimonial

Liz Gallop – Real Estate

Richard Horwood – Private Client

Richard Taylor – Real Estate

John Wiblin – Litigation

Senior Partner at Longmores, Anna Baptist, said: "I am delighted that once again so many of us have achieved recognition as a ‘Leader’.  All of us at Longmores are true specialists.  There is no doubt that our commitment to genuine specialism is valued by our clients who, as a result, feel they can rely on the quality of advice they receive.  I find it worrying that so many firms still have lawyers who claim to be specialists, but, in practice, are actually offering clients advice across a number of different legal fields.”

The Chambers UK Guide is a prestigious legal publication, recognised worldwide as a ‘guide for the world’s best lawyers.’

Every application to Chambers for recognition involves the in-depth consideration of a variety of cases worked on during the preceding year plus the names of 10 referees, who must be clients or referrers.  Chambers then uses professional investigative researchers to rigorously interview each applicant and the referees.

Each practice area has to submit an in-depth report on actual cases along with referees that are critical to the research.

Submissions are a source of factual information and this information, used in conjunction with other sources, can influence a decision on whether to include a firm or where to rank it.

About Chambers UK

The Chambers Guides have been ranking the best law firms and lawyers since 1990, and now cover 185 jurisdictions throughout the world.

They rank both lawyers and law firms based on the research of 150 full-time editors and researchers employed at their head office in London. They talk to lawyers and clients, conducting in-depth telephone interviews.  Many of their researchers are multi-lingual.  All are trained in the techniques of investigative research.

No other organisation has the strength-in-depth of their editorial and research team when it comes to assessing the world’s business lawyers.
